Spinal decompression at Behrends Spine and wellness

Decompression therapy table

Herniated and Bulging Discs

Spinal decompression therapy helps relieve the pressure placed on bulging or herniated discs by gently creating space between vertebrae. This allows nutrients and oxygen to flow back into the discs, supporting natural rehydration and healing. Patients often experience reduced nerve irritation, less radiating pain, and improved flexibility.
If you’ve been told you have a disc injury in your neck or low back, decompression can be an effective non-surgical solution.

Degenerative Disc Disease

As discs lose hydration and height over time, they can cause chronic stiffness, soreness, and nerve compression. Spinal decompression promotes circulation and nutrient delivery to these discs, slowing degeneration and reducing inflammation. Many patients notice improved posture, increased range of motion, and less daily discomfort. In addition to chiropractic care, we also offer massage therapy services. Our licensed massage therapists are trained in a variety of techniques to help reduce stress, alleviate pain, and improve overall well-being.

Sciatica and Nerve Pain

Sciatica occurs when pressure on the sciatic nerve causes pain that radiates from the lower back into the legs. Spinal decompression helps relieve that nerve pressure by gently separating spinal segments and reducing disc bulges that pinch the nerve. Patients often find long-lasting relief from shooting, burning, or tingling sensations down the leg.

Chronic Low Back Pain

For many patients, chronic back pain stems from compressed discs, muscle tension, or restricted spinal movement. Decompression therapy addresses the root cause by restoring motion and reducing disc pressure. When combined with chiropractic adjustments and rehabilitation, it provides a comprehensive approach to long-term spinal health.

Neck Pain and Cervical Disc Issues

Spinal decompression for the neck (cervical decompression) targets disc injuries and nerve compression in the upper spine. It can reduce pain radiating into the shoulders, arms, or hands while improving neck mobility and posture. The treatment is gentle, computer-controlled, and customized to each patient’s comfort level.

Facet Joint Syndrome

When the small joints between vertebrae become inflamed or arthritic, they can cause localized stiffness and pain. Spinal decompression helps reduce mechanical stress on these joints, promoting smoother motion and less irritation. Many patients experience relief from pain that worsens with standing or bending backward.

Spinal Stenosis

Spinal stenosis, or narrowing of the spinal canal, can cause pain, numbness, or weakness due to nerve compression. Decompression therapy helps alleviate that pressure by improving spinal spacing and alignment. For many patients, it enhances mobility and comfort without the risks of invasive procedures. We offer a variety of chiropractic care techniques to help manage pain, improve mobility, and promote overall wellness. Our treatments are tailored to each patient's individual needs.

Post-Surgical Back Pain

Even after back surgery, some patients continue to experience discomfort due to scar tissue or residual disc pressure. Spinal decompression can help manage these symptoms by restoring movement and reducing nerve irritation, often providing relief when other conservative treatments have failed.
